Eugenics and Obamacare.

Note: In this post, all selections in red font color are reference to history repeating itself.

By now you've probably heard that Sarah Palin has called the Obama Administration's Healthcare Reform Bill "Evil". Well, here is a portion of her statement from Facebook...

"As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil." -- Facebook-Sarah Palin Statement

"An interpretation of the phrase "survival of the fittest" to mean "only the fittest organisms will prevail" (a view sometimes derided as "Social Darwinism") is not consistent with the actual theory of evolution. Any individual organism which succeeds in reproducing itself is "fit" and will contribute to survival of its species, not just the "physically fittest" ones, though some of the population will be better adapted to the circumstances than others. A more accurate characterization of evolution would be "survival of the fit enough." - Wikipedia
Not surprising, there is a great deal of backlash that seems to be coming out of left field regarding this Obama Administration Healthcare Reform Bill. Maybe the reality check has already begun for those who mistakenly voted for Obama in the first place. Perhaps the reality check needs to happen for those who seem to think that the anger is somehow contrived and staged regarding this massive Trillion Dollar plan.

A poll taken previously in Utah regarding the Healthcare Exchange isn't surprising either.

"When asked if the state should establish a not-for-profit corporation called the Utah Health Insurance Exchange and require all small businesses and individuals to purchase medical coverage from it, 78 percent of respondents said 'No;' 10 percent supported the idea; and 12 percent were undecided. In a related question on the four-question poll, 54 percent of NFIB-member, small business owners favored legislative approval allowing health insurers to offer plans that do not include all the current mandates; 27 percent opposed the idea; and 19 percent were undecided." The way the vote is going to go through for the healthcare reform bill...in the form of a budgetary measure so that Biden can be the 51st vote -- "Hitler insisted that his party was determined to come to power legally, that the phrase "National Revolution" was only to be interpreted "politically", and that his Party was a friend, not an enemy...Hitler appealed to the bulk of German farmers, war veterans and the middle class, who had been hard-hit by both the inflation of the 1920s and the unemployment of the Depression..." Wikipedia
Although the consensus seemed to be negatory on the Utah Health Insurance Exchange, it didn't seem to stop it from going forward. Big surprise?

"Having secured supreme political power, Hitler went on to gain public support by convincing most Germans he was their savior from the economic Depression...Hitler oversaw one of the greatest expansions of industrial production and civil improvement Germany had ever seen, mostly based on debt flotation and expansion of the military....Much of the financing for Hitler's reconstruction and rearmament came from currency manipulation" Wikipedia
"Utah is currently implementing consumer-centered health insurance reforms enacted in March of this year. The reforms are designed to increase choice, portability, and availability of private health insurance coverage. They are the product of a continuing, multi-year health reform process in that state." -- The Heritage Foundation

"Nazism is often considered by scholars to be a form of fascism. While it incorporated elements from both left and right-wing politics, the Nazis formed most of their alliances on the right. The Nazis were one of several historical groups that used the term National Socialism to describe themselves...Among the key elements of Nazism were anti-parliamentarism, Pan-Germanism, racism, collectivism, eugenics, antisemitism, anti-communism, totalitarianism and opposition to economic liberalism (capitalism) and political liberalism."Wikipedia
"Along with back to school shopping, Utahns will be able to shop for health insurance online beginning August 19, 2009. The Utah Health Exchange is a website where Utah residents and business owners can shop, compare, and buy health insurance plans.

"...this act was different since it allowed for deviations from the constitution...all parties except the Social Democrats voted in favour of the bill. The Communists, as well as some Social Democrats, were barred from attending. The Enabling Act, combined with the Reichstag Fire Decree, transformed Hitler's government into a legal dictatorship...With this combination of legislative and executive power, Hitler's government further suppressed the remaining political opposition"-Wikipedia
Utah’s new health insurance exchange is only the second of its kind in the United States. Massachusetts was the first to institute this type of approach to affordable health insurance." -- EMAXHEALTH

Does this sound like this past election cycle? -- "As the parties loyal to the democratic, parliamentary republic found themselves unable to agree on counter-measures, their Grand Coalition broke up and was replaced by a minority cabinet. The new Chancellor...had to implement his measures through the president's emergency decrees. Tolerated by the majority of parties, this rule by decree would become the norm over a series of unworkable parliaments and paved the way for authoritarian forms of government."Wikipedia
The Heritage Foundation published an article regarding their concerns about this Healthcare Reform Bill and the Exchange.

"Members of Congress, pursuing President Barack Obama's health policy agenda, want to create a national health insurance exchange as a platform for a public health care plan to compete against private health insurance.

...While a national health insurance exchange is sometimes described as a nationwide pool of health insurance providers that would facilitate access to coverage for individuals and employers, its major function would be to provide a platform for a government-run public health plan that, using Medicare-style administrative pricing, would "compete" against private health insurance. Congressional champions of the idea say that this would increase the range of choice and competition available to Americans. In fact, it would do exactly the opposite."

"Nazi eugenics were Nazi Germany's racially-based social policies that placed the improvement of the race through eugenics at the center of their concerns and targeted those humans they identified as "life unworthy of life" including but not limited to the criminal, degenerate, dissident, feeble-minded, homosexual, idle, insane, religious, and weak, for elimination from the chain of heredity. More than 400,000 people were sterilized against their will, while 70,000 were killed in the Action T4." -- Wikipedia
Here is a little glimpse of the lack of power that states are about to have with the new health care reform bill.

"(c) Ceasing Operation-
(1) IN GENERAL- A State-based Health Insurance Exchange may, at the option of each State involved, and only after providing timely and reasonable notice to the Commissioner, cease operation as such an Exchange, in which case the Health Insurance Exchange shall operate, instead of such State-based Health Insurance Exchange, with respect to such State (or States).
(2) TERMINATION; HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE RESUMPTION OF FUNCTIONS- The Commissioner may terminate the approval (for some or all functions) of a State-based Health Insurance Exchange under this section if the Commissioner determines that such Exchange no longer meets the requirements of subsection (b) or is no longer capable of carrying out such functions in accordance with the requirements of this subtitle. In lieu of terminating such approval, the Commissioner may temporarily assume some or all functions of the State-based Health Insurance Exchange until such time as the Commissioner determines the State-based Health Insurance Exchange meets such requirements of subsection (b) and is capable of carrying out such functions in accordance with the requirements of this subtitle.
(3) EFFECTIVENESS- The ceasing or termination of a State-based Health Insurance Exchange under this subsection shall be effective in such time and manner as the Commissioner shall specify." [bold added]
"With this combination of legislative and executive power, Hitler's government further suppressed the remaining political opposition" - repeated from above
"In reality, the result would be a massive erosion of private health insurance. According to a recent analysis by the Lewin Group, the nation's most prominent health policy econometrics firm, assuming full implementation of the House bill, 103.9 million Americans would be covered under the public plan, and 83.4 million of them would no longer be covered by private health insurance. Moreover, a federally designed health insurance exchange would consolidate federal control over the financing and delivery of Americans' medical services.

Initially, Americans may respond positively to the idea of a national health insurance exchange, but they are almost certainly unclear about its functions, how it would affect them, or which health policy problems it would solve. The maddeningly elastic language used in the health care debate can conceal as much as convey the true meaning of proposals embodied in the complex provisions of the mammoth House and Senate health care bills." - The Heritage Foundation

"Applied to human beings, "survival of the fittest" was interpreted as requiring racial purity and killing off "life unworthy of life." The first victims were children with physical and developmental disabilities; those killings occurred in a programme dubbed Action T4." -Wikipedia

If you are wondering what all of the hubbub is about regarding the care of the elderly, disabled, chronically ill and so forth, here is a little snippet of the bill for you to noodle on.
"According to the author of Medical Killing and the Psychology of Genocide psychiatrist Robert Jay Lifton, the policy went through a number of iterations and modifications: "Of the five identifiable steps by which the Nazis carried out the principle of "life unworthy of life," coercive sterilization was the first. There followed the killing of “impaired” children in hospitals; and then the killing of “impaired” adults, mostly collected from mental hospitals, in centers especially equipped with carbon monoxide gas. This project was extended (in the same killing centers) to “impaired” inmates of concentration and extermination camps and, finally, to mass killings in the extermination camps themselves." -- Life Unworthy of Life - Wikipedia

"Sparta must be regarded as the first Völkisch State. The exposure of the sick, weak, deformed children, in short, their destruction, was more decent and in truth a thousand times more humane than the wretched insanity of our day which preserves the most pathological subject, and indeed at any price, and yet takes the life of a hundred thousand healthy children in consequence of birth control or through abortions, in order subsequently to breed a race of degenerates burdened with illnesses" -- Wikipedia

(1) seeks to--
(A) improve health outcomes;

"The Law for the Prevention of Hereditarily Diseased Offspring, proclaimed on July 14, 1933, required physicians to register every case of hereditary illness known to them, except in women over forty-five years of age. Physicians could be fined for failing to comply. In 1934 the first year of the Law's operation, nearly 4,000 people appealed against the decisions of sterilization authorities. 3,559 of the appeals failed. By the end of the Nazi regime, over 200 Hereditary Health Courts were created, and under their rulings over 400,000 people were sterilized against their will." -- Wikipedia

"SEC. 206. OTHER FUNCTIONS.

(b) Coordination of Risk Pooling- The Commissioner shall establish a mechanism whereby there is an adjustment made of the premium amounts payable among QHBP offering entities offering Exchange-participating health benefits plans of premiums collected for such plans that takes into account (in a manner specified by the Commissioner) the differences in the risk characteristics of individuals and employers enrolled under the different Exchange-participating health benefits plans offered by such entities so as to minimize the impact of adverse selection of enrollees among the plans offered by such entities."

With so much to research and the fact that it is now 1:00 in the morning, I will conclude this post with a note that I will be on top of this issue in coming days and an additional note that people need to speak up and make their voices heard...now!
